Vietnam Visa Information

All UK citizens planning to visit Vietnam require a visa. This has to be obtained before departure from the UK.

Sanya China Travel can arrange visas for british passport holders and for most foreign nationals, dependent on conditions. Our charge is £30.00 per visa, this includes the handling of all the paperwork.

Current Vietnam tourist visa and Vietnam business visa costs:

An entry visa to Vietnam can be applied by post or in person (by the applicant or anyone on his/her behalf) at the embassy, except for those who choose the ’same day express service’ (short-stay) must lodge the application at the embassy. It is strongly advised that all other applicants apply by post to avoid the queue.

Type of visa Total amount payable per visa application - total cost to you (UK Citizen)
Single Entry Visa £81
Multiple Entry Visa - Valid for 6 months £163
Multiple Entry Visa - Valid for 1 year £223

Applicants must submit or send by recorded delivery (preferably Royal Mail special delivery) to the embassy the following documents:

  • Original and valid passport which must have longer validity than the visa by at least one month and have at least one blank page left. Please remove passport cover (if any) and keep note of your passport details in case you might need them while your passport is with the embassy.
  • One completed application form with one passport-size photo affixed. Please fill the form carefully so that the information can be read accurately. Please use the download below or request for us to post the form - you can send us a message from the form on the left.
  • Visa fee must be paid in cash, postal order or bank draft payable to the embassy of Vietnam. All payments are non-refundable. Cheque and other types of payments are not accepted. We accept British Pound Sterling (£) only. Visa fees are variable and depend on the length of stay and number(s) of entry, please contact the embassy for further information.
  • If you want your passport(s) to be returned by post, please send in a self-addressed envelope (no stamp necessary) and the fee, which is £8.00 per each passport (visa and fee can be sent together in one payment).
Vietnam Visa Processing:
  • Upon receipt of the application, it takes five working days by normal service or two working days by express service to process at the embassy. Only after that, passport(s) with visa would be ready for collection at the embassy or for return by recorded Royal Mail special delivery.
  • Delivery time by the post office is not included in the processing time above. For your information only, the delivery time back to the addresses within the UK may take at least one to two working days (in most cases, it is within two weeks from the date you send to the date you receive it back); or if back to the addresses in Ireland may take at least three to five working days (in most cases, it is about three weeks from the date you send to the date you receive it back) with normal service.
  • To avoid panic situations whereby passport(s) are in transit and may not be available in time for travel, please allow plenty of time for the delivery or consider the express service. This advice is particularly relevant to passport(s) from Ireland, which normally take much longer time to travel back and forth. It is also worth to note that the delivery time during public holidays may change considerably. Click here for vietnamese and british public holidays. Please do not make telephone or email inquiries about the visa status prior to these time limits. It is strongly advised that the applicant should decide normal or express service before submission but not late.

Sanya China Travel can apply for your visa for you at an additional cost of £30 per application. 1 visa = £38.00, 2 visas = £72.00, etc.

Sanya China Travel will provide all other required documentation, if the whole package has been booked through us. For all visas, passports must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return to the UK.

If your passport shows British Subject, rather than British Citizen, you are advised to check with before you travel, as conditions may vary.

We ask that all visa applications be made no later than 4 weeks prior to departure. If your visa application is denied or delayed for any reason by the authorities and as a result you are delayed or prevented from travelling, Sanya China Travel cannot be held liable for any costs incurred, for any changes or cancellations.
