Travelling in 4 or 5 star luxury cruising on the Yangtze is one of the greatest river journeys of the world. The sightseeing is breathtaking. Misty mountains, tranquil lagoons, bamboo groves and of course the spectacular gorges make up one of China's must see tourist attractions. The journey will take you along the longest river in Asia and the third longest in the world.
You will not normally have a dedicated guide on the boat. Although you will be made aware of the various locations as your trip progresses. The land excursions will be prearranged for you with transport laid on for you to and from the cruise boat.
The world's largest engineering project, The Three Gorges Dam is planned to be completed in 2010. Your cruise will allow you to witness this feat of modern engineering, that's planned to enable the Yellow River to rise 575 feet above sea level. Once completed it will have the power of 16 nuclear power plants and finally solve the problem of the floods that have been prone to the Yangtze River.

| 2 | Shore excursion to Fengdu, the Ghost City, known for its gardens, temples and Statues of Ghosts and devils. | |
| 3 | Enter the Three Gorges, one of nature's most extraordinary sculptures. Qutong Gorge is the Shortest (5 miles), the narrowest (500 feet), and the most dramatic. The 25 mile long Wu Gorge is known for its Quiet beauty, its forest covered mountains, cliffs are so sheer that the sun barely penetrates its precipices. The third Gorge, Xiling Gorge, is the longest (41 miles) and the deepest of the three Gorges. In the evening your ship will sail though the three Gorges ship locks. | |
| 4 | Morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam site at Sandouping, the largest construction project of its kind in the world. 13:30 - disembark the boat at Yichang after your lunch where you will resume the next part of your itinerary with your guide. |
