London to Shanghai. The Flight for Shanghai departs from London Heathrow. Due to the time difference, you will arrive in China the following morning. Shanghai. upon arrival in Shanghai, look out for the Sanya China Travel welcome board. Your Guide will meet you at the airport and ensure a smooth transfer to the 3 star Astor hotel for two nights. Guilin to Yangshou. Today you will take the Li River Cruise (Lijiang River) to the Village of Yangshuo. Guilin to Kunming. Today’s tour is to the Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave and Fubo Hill. You will have an excellent insight into the countryside of Guangxi Province. In the early evening we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Kunming. Upon arrival we will transfer you to the 4 star New Era Hotel for two nights. Kunming. In the morning we depart from the hotel bound for the Stone Forest known as the 'First Wonder of the World'. Xi’an to Beijing. Today we will take you on a full day’s tour including the Terra-cotta Warriors, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Grand Mosque. In the evening after dinner you will be transferred to the station for the overnight train to Beijing. The train departs at 20.16 (8.16pm). The train arrives in Beijing at 07.17 on the morning of day 13 of your holiday. Please note you will travel in a private first class soft seater cabin with beds. Please click here. These areas of Beijing are protected from development; here we are determined to show you typical daily life. In the evening, enjoy the Peking Duck dinner. This tour offers a unique blend of both the ancient and modern, as well the opportunity to take in China's breathtaking scenery and world famous historical sites.
Shanghai is the starting point for this tour, where you will spend two nights at the famous Astor Hotel. Please click here to take a look at this Hotel. On your first full day you will enjoy many of the attractions this thriving metropolis can offer.
From Shanghai you travel to Guilin, where over three days you will enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in China. This sample itinerary includes the beautiful Li Jiang River Cruise.
You will spend the next few days travelling through Yunnan Province, with overnight stopovers in Kunming, Dali and Lijaing. Yunnan Province boasts the most diverse range of scenery of all the Chinese provinces ranging from tropical rainforest to snow-capped mountains. We have chosen Traditional style hotels or guesthouses with modern facilities. Please click on the accommodation links below and take a look at where you will be staying.
Xi'an and then Beijing are the final two cities you will visit, the ancient and modern capital cities of China. You will see numerous world famous attractions including quieter sections of the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors. We have included an overnight train journey from Xi'an to Beijing, travelling overnight in a first class train compartment will add to your holiday experience. However if you would prefer to fly form Xi'an to Beijing we can easily make seperate arrangements for you.
