On this tour you will be given the opportunity to sample and cook some of the famous Sichuan dishes. Enjoy time at the local food markets while at the same time experience the culture of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province.

Day Schedule Meals
1 Depart UK with KLM via Amsterdam to Chengdu.  
2 Arrive in Chengdu and transfer to a Jingchuan Guest House for 4 nights. Rest of the day at Leisure.  
3 Day at Leisure to look round Chengdu town and familiarise yourself with the local flavours. B
4 Today you will, attend the Sichuan Institute of Higher Cuisine for a day of cooking lessons where you will have the opportunity to prepare some of Sichuan's most popular dishes. Throughout, you will be given some background information on the various ingredients and cooking techniques, In the evening you will be taken for dinner where you will sample the famous Sichuan hotpot at a wonderfully aesthetic restaurant. 5 This morning you will be guided through the exotic variety of fruits, vegetables, meats and spices at Chengdu's local food markets. For lunch, we will feast on delicious Sichuan "xiaochi" delicacies. These are comprised of an assortment of dishes ranging from meat and seafood, to preserved vegetables to hand made noodles. Each dish is brought out on a small individual plate, allowing you to sample a wide variety of flavours. B/L/D
6 After breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight back to London via Amsterdam. B
