Shangri-La stretches across Sichuan,Yunnan and Tibet and is situated on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The area is well known for its picturesque scenery and for its diverse cultural mix. It has been home to many ethnic communities for thousands of years, all of which have their own colourful and unique customs.
This tour starts with two nights in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of Shanghai. There you have the opportunity of sampling a city in constant transition, a city with a fascinating history and exiting future.
Our tour into Shangri-La, takes you into the region from the south, through Yunnan Province. Starting in the provincial capital of Kunming, you will travel by air and road to the heart of Shangri-La, Zhongdian. The journey includes a two-night stopover in the ancient city of Lijiang and two days trekking, which will give you the chance to experience the more remote parts of this wonderful area.
Three nights in Zhongdian, include half-day excursions to Bitahai Lake and the Songzanlin Monastery, combined with a suitable amount of free time, which will allow you to enjoy this incredible town at your leisure.
