Weifang the reputed ‘the Kite Capital of the World’. is a unique city with strong cultural traditions found to the North East of Beijing it is The International Kite Festival is usually held annually from the 20th to 25th of April in this fascinating city. It’s sure to provide you a perfect opportunity to see all sorts of kites and an excellent platform to establish communication with other fellow kite lovers.
Qingdao: A brief introduction
Qingdao is the nearest airport and we have incorporated time into this tour to visit this coastal city. It lies on the southern tip of China's Shandong Peninsula and faces the Yellow Sea of China. During this tour we will also endeavor to show you the beautiful countryside of Shandong Province. The region is famous not just for its fabulous Kite festival but China’s leading brand of beer; Tsing Tao.
Qingdao: Arguably Chinas most modern seaside City
Your tour starts in Beijing where your English-speaking guide will take you to the capitals many tourist sights including the Great Wall and Forbidden City. You will then visit the Weifang International Kite Festival one of the most appealing festivals worldwide.
We note that the world-famous Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an is a must for many tourists to visit Mainland China. You therefore might consider arriving in China on the 13th of April, a day earlier than our main tour in order to add sightseeing in Xi’an (Terracotta Warriors) to be included – Please see Tour B below for this option.
