Yangshuo is perhaps China's best known tourist town with its sensational mountain landscape. It has inspired Chinese artists and poets for centuries. From the balloon you will witness stunning views of the hills interspersed by century old farms. The Guilin / Yangshuo Valley with the Li River meandering through hundreds of limestone hills are one of the world's iconic sights.
Upon arriving at the launch site, you will witness the giant balloons being inflated. After the exhilarating balloon flight you will receive a flight certificate.
If however you don't have a head for heights, then you can be just as involved in the experience by becoming a "chaser". This is when one or more people do not want to fly and they chase the balloon with the highly experienced ground crew. You will follow the balloons journey by travelling along narrow lanes and through the traditional farming villages. It is an exciting adventure in itself with the added bonus of being able to watch the balloons with your feet firmly on the ground.
The tour also takes you shopping in local markets in Hong Kong then on to the beautiful area of Guilin. In Guilin you will be able to relax on the Li-River cruise taking in the scenery from the water, before you take to the skies in your hot air balloon journey to experience the spectacular sights from above.
We have created two examples of how you can incorporate balloon travel on your trip to China. One from Shanghai, our Balloon Tour A, and the other involving Hong Kong, our Balloon Tour B.

| 2 | Shanghai. Your 11 hour flight Arrives in Shanghai in the morning of the next day. Normally the BA flights arrive at Shanghai's PVG Airport at 08:00am. Connecting with flight departing from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport for the onward flight to Guilin. Be met in Guilin and transferred to the hotel. Stay at the 4* Park Hotel for 1 night. | D |
| 3 | Guilin. Today join the Li-River Cruise. Lunch on board. Arrive in Yangshuo and you will be transferred to the Li-River Retreat Hotel where you will stay overnight. You will be met at your hotel and taken to the Balloon Launch site. You will witness the giant balloons being inflated. Before your flight, your pilot will give you a full briefing. | 4 | Guilin. In the morning, you will have the opportunity to ride bikes to explore the local villages nearby or we can arrange for you to ride the bamboo raft on the Lijiang River. In the afternoon you will have free time for you to explore the West Street and it's pubs and restaurant. In the evening you will be taken to watch the performance of “Impression Liusanjie”. (B) The Impression or Liusanjie Project is held by The Li River Mountain-Water Theatre Company. The performance is created to expresses the beautiful scenery of the Li River and the colourful culture of the ethnic groups in Guangxi. The performance lasts for 70 minutes and more than 600 actors and actresses are involved. It's stunning and lavish and presented in a fashion only the Chinese can! | 5 | Guilin. In the morning, drive back to Guilin airport for a flight back to Shanghai. You will be met in Shanghai and then transferred to the Astor Hotel which is a traditional old style boutique hotel in a very central location of the city. Enjoy your free time in Shanghai. | B |
