A journey to Thailand’s far north visiting hill tribes, ancient cities and temples.
From Bangkok your journey heads north. Stop at Ayutthaya, the capital
of Siam from 1350 to 1767 and see some of the many temples.
Old Sukhothai is one of Asia’s most important historical sites, it
was the first capital of the Thai Kingdom.
From Chiang Rai far in the north drive along narrow hilly roads through beautiful landscapes with spectacular views to the villages. Visit the Akha and Yao hill tribes. Then drive to Mae Sai which is the most northern town of Thailand on the border of Burma. Continue to the centre of the famous "Golden Triangle" the meeting point of the borders of Burma, Laos and Thailand.
Enjoy the hot springs at Maeo Ka Chan before you reach the scenic hillsides and jungles of Chian Mai, known as "rose of the north".

Day 1
Fly to Bankok.
Day 2
Arrive in Bangkok – time to settle in.
Day 3
Depart Bangkok. Stop at Bang Pa In and visit the Royal Palace, the Thai Pavilion and Vihat Chamrun the Chinese-style palace. Continue to Ayutthaya to visit the temples. Proceed to Lopburi to visit the Phra Prang Sam Yod Temple and Sarn Prakan Temple. Continue to Phitsanuloke.
Day 4
Proceed to Sukhothai and visit the temples Wat Sra Sri and Wat Sri Chum. Continue to Sri Satchangalai, visit temples and ruins. Drive to Chiang Rai.
Day 5
Visit the Akha and Yao hill tribes. Drive to Mae Sai. Continue to the centre of the "Golden Triangle". Optional boat trip on the Mekong River. Visit to the Old Opium House before continuing to Chiang Saen.
Day 6
Drive to Maeo Ka Chan to enjoy the hot springs. Continue through scenic hillsides and jungles to Chiang Mai the "Rose of the North". Drive to Wat Phra Dhat Doi Suthep Mountain Temple. A traditional "Kantoke" dinner with entertainment.
Day 7
Visit an Elephant camp - optional ride. Visit to the orchid and butterfly farm and handicraft villages at San Kampaeng.
Day 8
Return flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then return flight.
