A comprehensive tour of some of China’s main sights plus a cruise on the Yangtze River.
From Shanghai to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. You will visit the Giant Panda Research Base and see one of the world’s favourite animals at close quarters.
The Yangtze River is the third longest river in the world flowing from the mountains of Tibet to the China Sea near Shanghai. Your cruise takes in the most picturesque section of the river between Chongqing and Yichan. You will enjoy four nights on board a luxury cruise ship with full board and as you travel downstream will pass through the magnificent Three Gorges, considered one of the great scenic attractions of China. We also have an upstream alternative to this tour which is one less night.
Onwards to Xi’an China’s ancient capital city where you will see the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Finally in Beijing take in the sights of The Great Wall, Tian’anmen Square and the Summer Palace to name just a few.

Day 1
Fly to Shanghai
Day 2
Arrive Shanghai – rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3
Full day tour including Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum and the Bund. Visit Shanghai Acrobatics Show in the evening.
Day 4
Full day tour to the water town of Suzhou.
Day 5
Fly from Shanghai to Yichang. The boat departs at 9pm. You will spend 4 nights on the boat.
Day 6
Yangtze River Cruise - Full day on the cruise. Visit the Three Gorges Dam, sail through the Xiling Gorge.
Day 7
Yangtze River Cruise - Full day on the cruise. Excursion to the Daning River and forest covered mountains at Qutang.
Day 8
Yangtze River Cruise - Full day on the cruise. Including a shore excursion to Fengdu (Ghost City). Explore it’s beautiful gardens and temples
Day 9
Arrive in Chongqing and Transfer to Chengdu.
Day 10
Full day tour including Panda Research Base and Leshan. Sichuan Opera performance in the evening with tea.
Day 11
Fly from Chengdu to Xi'an. The afternoon will be spent at the famous Hanyangling Mausoleum.
Day 12
Full day tour including the Terracotta Warriors and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening with a dumpling banquet.
Day 13
Fly to Beijing. Afternoon visit to the Summer Palace
Day 14
Full day tour including Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. (Optional evening performance of the Peking Opera)
Day 15
Full day tour including the Great Wall at the Mutianyu Section, Ming Tombs and the Sacred Way.
Day 16
Morning visit to the Lama Temple followed by a Hutong culture tour (old streets). Rest of the day at leisure. Peking Duck dinner in the evening
Day 17
Return flight.
