An incredible journey along the Silk Road following in the footsteps of ancient traders
Merchants travelled the Silk Road for thousands of years transporting silks from Xi'an to Europe, later the route became the main route into China from the West for great explorers like Marco Polo.
Your journey starts in Beijing where you will explore the city and enjoy two full days visiting the major tourist attractions. From Beijing you travel onwards to Xi'an which served as the hub of China's silk trade. Visit the Terracotta Warriors and the sites of the Muslim Quarter.
Continue your journey by air and overnight train along this most famous of routes. You will spend time in many cities of historic and cultural interest with excursions to some of the most breathtaking and diverse scenic spots imaginable, the Bingling Grottoes at Lanzhou, Crescent Moon Lake near Dunhuang and the Gaochang Ruins in Turpan are but some of the attractions included in this most remarkable expedition.

Day 1
Fly to Beijing.
Day 2
Arrive Beijing. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3
Full day tour including Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. Peking Opera performance in the evening.
Day 4
Full day tour including the Great Wall at the quieter Mutianyu Section, Ming Tombs and the Sacred Road. Peking Duck dinner in the evening.
Day 5
Fly to Xi'an. Visit the Ancient City Wall, Muslim Quarter and Grand Mosque.
Day 6
Full day tour including the Terracotta Warriors and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tang Dynasty Show in the evening with dumpling banquet.
Day 7
Fly to Lanzhou. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 8
Full day tour including Bingling Grottoes and Liujiaxia.
Day 9
Morning at leisure. Fly to Dunhuang.
Day 10
Full day tour including Mogao Cave, Mingsha Mountain and the Crescent Moon Lake. In the evening transfer to the station for your overnight train to Turpan.
Day 11
Early morning arrival in Turpan. Full day tour including Buddha Cave, the Tombs of Aatana, Gaochang Ruins and Flaming Mountain.
Day 12
Drive to Urumqi. Morning tour to Jiaohe Ruins and Irrigation System.
Day 13
Morning visit to the Xinjiang Museum and Tianchi Lake. Fly to Kashgar.
Day 14
Full day tour to Karakul Lake.
Day 15
Full day tour including the Bazaar, Id Kha Mosque and the Tombs of Abakh Hoja. Fly to Urumqi.
Day 16
Fly to Beijing. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 17
Return flight.
