A comprehensive tour of some of China’s greatest cities and a visit to the spiritual land of Tibet.
Explore the sights of Bejing including the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and discover the Hutongs. In Xining you visit the Dongguan mosque built in the 14th century, it is one of the most famous in Northwest China.
Then board your overnight train and travel to Lhasa in Tibet, an incredible journey. Relax and acclimatise slowly to the high altitude before you begin exploring. Visit temples, monasteries and palaces and learn about the ancient Tibetan culture and traditions. A breathtaking drive takes you to Gyantse and colourful prayer flags blow mystically in the wind marking your route. In Gyantse there are more amazing sights to discover.
Fly to Xi'an and visit the Terracotta Warriors. Finally in the fast growing city of Shanghai you see the bright lights at night and enjoy tranquil gardens by day.

Day 1
Fly to Beijing.
Day 2
Arrive Beijing – relax and settle in. Enjoy a Hutong tour.
Day 3
Visit Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall at the quieter Mutianyu Section and the Ming Tombs.
Day 4
Full day tour of Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace and the Forbidden City.
Day 5
Fly to Xining. Visit the Dongguan mosque. This evening board train for the trip to Lhasa. First class private sleeper cabin.
Day 6
Arrive Lhasa late in the afternoon.
Day 7
Day at leisure to acclimatise to the altitude.
Day 8
Visit Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Pilgrim Circuit and Potala Palace.
Day 9
Visit Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and a Tibetan Family.
Day 10
Today travel to Gyantse and surrounding areas. En route visit the Yamdrok Lake.
Day 11
Sightseeing around Gyantse to include Pelkor Monastery, Gyantse Kumbum and the Old Fort.
Day 12
Return to Lhasa by car. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 13
Morning at leisure in Lhasa. Fly to Xi'an.
Day 14
Full day tour of The Ancient City Wall, Muslim Quarter and The Terracotta Warriors.
Day 15
Fly to Shanghai. Evening boat ride on the Huangpu River to witness the famous light show at the Bund and view the city skyline at night.
Day 16
Today counter balance the hustle and bustle of China's second city by taking in the Beautiful Yuyuan Gardens and the Jade Buddha Temple.
Day 17
Return flight.
