Pokhara
Pokhara City is located 200 kilometres to the west of Kathmandu and is one of Nepal's premier tourist destinations. The city has a population of almost 100,000 with the majority of its people of Magar, Gurung and Thakalis ethnic origin. Pokara's surrounding scenery is truly breathtaking, with several lakes and the stunning backdrop of the Himalayan Mountain Range.
Phewa Tal (Lake) is the second largest lake in Nepal and one of three in Pokhara itself. Here you have the opportunity to hire boats to reach the Island Temple at its centre. On the eastern shoreline of the lake is an area referred to locally as Baidam, where you will find numerous restaurants, hotels, craft and souvenir shops.

Devi's Fall is also referred to as Patale Chhango is a spectacular waterfall stemming from Phewa Lake 2 kilometres from the city. To appreciate the waterfall fully you are best to view it from the underground level at its foot. Close by is Mahadev Cave, which holds great religious importance within the region.
The Seti Gandaki River runs through the heart of Pokhara City. At Mahendra Pul, a small bridge crossing the river, you will fully appreciate the rivers awesome power, as you overlook Seti Gorge.
