In Vientiane explore temples, monuments and stupas before watching the sunset over the Mekong River. Luang Prabang is the spiritual centre for the country with many beautiful temples. Rise early to see the monks collecting alms, take a boat trip to see dramatic gorges with caves and visit the Kuang Si Waterfalls.

Drive into the mountains through remote hill tribe villages before arriving at Phonsavan to visit the “Plain of Jars”. An impressive archaeological site, each of these mysterious jars is approximately 2000 years old and their significance is still not clear. At Kong Island you stay in a hotel floating on the river.

Take a boat trip to spot rare dolphins and explore lush plantations, hills, forests and villages. There are more hill tribes to discover and a chance to trek along forest paths. What an adventure!

Day 1

Fly to Vientiane.

Day 2

Arrive in Vientiane. Afternoon take a city tour and sunset at the Mekong riverside.

Day 3

Fly to Luang Prabang. Afternoon city tour including Wat Visoun and the National Museum.

Day 4

Boat trip on Mekong River, see Pak Ou Caves and the textile village of Ban Phanom.

Day 5

Drive to the Tad Kuang Si Waterfalls. Afternoon free.

Day 6

See monks taking offerings and visit the morning market. Drive to Xiengkhouangto visit hill tribe villages. Arrive in Phonsavan.

Day 7

Visit "Plain of Jars". Later visit the local central market.

Day 8

Drive to Vang Vieng. Visit Tam None cave & boat cruise along the Nam Song River.

Day 9

Drive to Vientiane. Take a boat trip on Nam Ngum. Visit the 11th century Buddhist Sanctuary of Vang Sang and Salt Extraction Site.

Day 10

Fly to Pakse. Boat trip to Champasak and Wat Phu. Visit Nang Sida and Tao Tao Temples. Then arrive at Khong Islands.

Day 11

Board a long tail boat to Ban Khone. Drive southwards to the Lao – Cambodia border and Khone Phapheng with Asia’s largest waterfalls. You overnight on a floating hotel on the river.

Day 12

A trip by boat to see Mekong Dolphins at Ban Hang Khone. Drive to Pakse.

Day 13

Drive towards Tadlo to visit hill tribe villages. Continue through Paksong and Boloven Plateau.

Day 14

A day trekking through forest paths, local villages & waterfalls in the Tadlo area. Drive back to Pakse.

Day 15

Fly to Vientiane and connect to your return flight.
