An extensive journey in to Northern India from Delhi taking in all the major cities in Rajasthan and southwards to Mumbai.
Arriving into Delhi you will tour the old and new cities. Fascinating Varanasi is the religious capital for Hindus and the oldest inhabited city in the world, with the sacred river Ganges running through it.
Don’t miss Agra at sunrise to marvel at the beauty of the Taj Mahal. Jaipur is a picturesque Pink City of fairy tale palaces and rugged fortresses. Onwards to the medieval town of Mandawa, known for its colourful, exquisitely carved Havelis with beautiful frescoes.
Bikaner is a royal fortified city, renowned for the best riding camels in the world. Continue to through the Thar Desert to magnificent Jaisalmer, from here a jeep safari takes you to remote desert villages. Early morning drive to Jodhpur with its impressive fort. Then reach the relaxing lakeside city of Udaipur, scattered with grandiose lakeside palaces. Finally in Mumbai take a motor launch to the Elephant Caves and explore the city.

Day 1
Fly to Delhi, arrive late afternoon.
Day 2
Delhi City Tour visiting Red Fort, Rajghat, India Gate, Parliament House, Qutub Minar & Humanyun'rsquo;s Tomb.
Day 3
Fly to Varanasi. Afternoon visit to Sarnath.
Day 4
Boat ride at dawn down India’s most sacred river, the Ganges. Later city tour of Varanasi.
Day 5
Fly to Khajuraho. Visit the Western group of temples, famous for its erotic sculptures.
Day 6
Morning at leisure. Afternoon travel by train to Agra arriving late evening.
Day 7
At sunrise, marvel at the beauty of the Taj Mahal. Guided tour of Agra, famous for its carpets, gold thread embroidery, leather shoes and the Agra Fort.
Day 8
Morning drive to Jaipur, en route visit the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri.
Day 9
Visit Amber Fort, ride an elephant to ascend the hill on which the Fort is situated. City tour of Jaipur, see City Palace and Jantar Mantar.
Day 10
Drive to the medieval town of Mandawa, known for its colourful, exquisitely carved Havelis with beautiful frescoes. Later visit nearby villages to see the lavish Havelis
Day 11
Drive to Bikaner the royal fortified city, renowned for the best riding camels in the world. Visit Junagarh Fort.
Day 12
Drive to Jaisalmer through Thar Desert en route visiting the 600 year old Karni Mata Temple at Deshnok.
Day 13
Explore the city of Jaisalmer visiting the City Palace, havelies, temples and typical desert life. Visit Jaisalmer fort and enjoy a jeep safari through the remote desert villages of Roopsi, Doojasar, Kanoi, Kuldara and Cenotaphs of Barabagh. Afternoon, enjoy camel safari in the Thar Desert to see sunset.
Day 14
Drive to Jodhpur. City tour, visit Mehrangarh fort that soars 125m above the plains.
Day 15
Drive to Udaipur en route visit the 500 years old Jain Temple complex in Ranakpur.
Day 16
City tour of Udaipur. Afternoon is free. Fly to Mumbai arriving late evening.
Day 17
Take a motor launch to the Elephant Caves. City tour of Mumbai
Day 18
Full day free. Farewell dinner. Return flight home.
NB: Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays
