commercial, shopping & entertainment district. It's just 27km to
Tian He International Airport, 2km to Wuhan Harbour and 5km to Han
Kou Station, so you’ll have no problem getting transport for
a day exploring away from busy Wuhan City.
Be sure to take some time to discover Wuhan. A shrine of China's history, the area was first settled more than 3,000 years ago in the Han Dynasty, when Hanyang became a busy port. In the first and third centuries A.D., walls were built to protect Hanyang and Wuchang. These walls are now one of the most popular tourist attractions of China!
For
a nice walk outdoors, and to soak up some of the beautiful natural
scenery alongside the history of the city, visit the Yellow Crane Tower.
One of the longest suffering architectural relics, as well as the oldest,
it was built in 333 during the Three Kingdoms period. In the centuries
that followed, it was destroyed and rebuilt several times. In history,
the tower inspired many poets and artists.
From the top floor you have a great view of Wuhan and the Yangtze River. The park surrounding the tower is gorgeous and to really feel a part of the tradition around you there is a bell there that you can ring for good luck!
