Li River cruise, Summer Palace, The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors A Taste of China Group Tour

This tour offers a unique blend of ancient and modern China plus some breathtaking natural scenery.

Beijing is the starting point where you will have a taste of the many attractions to see including a breathtaking walk along the Great Wall. From Beijing, you travel to Guilin and see some of the most spectacular scenery in China.

Then travelling through Yunnan Province you will stay overnight in Kunming, Dali and Lijiang. Yunnan Province boasts the most diverse range of scenery of all the Chinese provinces ranging from tropical rainforest to snow–capped mountains, the crystal clear waters of the Lijiang River, huge karst rock formations and beautiful caves which will take your breath away. On to Xi’an to visit the Terracotta Warriors and then back to Shanghai, a thriving metropolis of a city and an unbeatable finale.

Day 1

Beijing – Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Xinqiao Novotel Hotel. In the afternoon we will take a tour of the Lama Temple and the Summer Palace. In the evening you are invited to be our guest at a welcome dinner with your guide.

Day 2

Beijing - Today we will take you on a full day’s tour including Tian’anmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 3

Beijing – Another full day’s tour includes the quieter section of the Great Wall (The Mutianyu Section) and the Ming Tombs (including the Sacred Road and Changling Tomb). Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
If you want to know where the best restaurants are away from the tourists ask your guide or us in advance.

Day 4

Beijing to Guilin – After breakfast we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Guilin. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Bravo hotel for one night. Enjoy the evening at leisure to explore the city.

Day 5

Guilin to Yangshuo – Today you will take the Li River Cruise (Lijiang River) to the Village of Yangshuo. When we disembark we will visit the famous West Street (this street is lined with traditional market stalls). We will then transfer you to the Mountain Retreat Hotel.

Day 6

Guilin to Kunming –Today’s tour is to the Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave and Fubo Hill. You will have an excellent insight into the countryside of Guangxi Province. In the early evening you will take a flight to Kunming where you will be transferred to the Golden Dragon Hotel for two nights. Enjoy the evening at your own leisure.

Day 7

Kunming – You will depart from the hotel in the morning bound for the Stone Forest of Kunming known as the ’First Wonder of the World’. You will marvel at its natural stone masterpieces and be bewitched by the intricate rock formations. Lunch will be at a traditional restaurant in the countryside before returning to Kunming. Enjoy the evening at Leisure.

Day 8

Kunming to Dali – After breakfast we will take you to the air­­port for the early morning flight to Dali. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to the Landscape Hotel. You will then visit the Three Pagoda, The Chongsheng Temple and cruise on the Erhai Lake after visiting Dali’s Old Town district. It is a busy but rewarding day!

Day 9

Dali to Lijiang – This morning you will visit Cangshan Mountain by cable car and then be transferred to the Old Town of Lijiang. On the way you will visit the Xizhou Bai Minority Village. Arrive in Lijiang and have lunch at a traditional restaurant before transferring to the Jiannanchun hotel. Enjoy the afternoon and evening at your own leisure.

Day 10

Lijiang – Today you will enjoy a half–day tour including the Black Dragon Pond Park and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. You will have the afternoon to spend as you wish. An optional evening excursion to the Naxi Orchestra is included. This is ancient chinese music at its very best.

Day 11

Lijiang to Xi’an – After breakfast you will take the morning flight to the former capital city Xi’an (via Kunming). On arrival at Xi’an you will be met and transferred to the Garden Hotel and then be taken for lunch at a traditional restaurant. Enjoy the evening at your own leisure.

Day 12

Xi’an – Today we will take you on a full day’s tour including the Terracotta Warriors, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Grand Mosque. Evening at your own leisure.

Day 13

Xi’an to Shanghai – In the morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the famous Astor hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 14

Shanghai – Today enjoy a full day’s tour to Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple and the Shanghai Museum.

Day 15

Shanghai – Today we visit the Zhu Jia Jiao water town and the famous Nanjing Road. In the evening we will take a cruise on the Bund to witness the spectacular light show.

Day 16

Shanghai – We will transfer you to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
